Welcome Letter

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to your new class for the this year! I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.

I have been privileged to be part of education now for over a quarter of a century! That sounds like such a long time, but when you are a part of something that you love doing, it keeps you happy and young. Over the many years of teaching I have seen many changes to what takes place in the classroom to prepare students for the future ahead of them. With the many changes I have seen, I can still say that one of the keys to education is being challenged individually and finding purpose in what you are being taught. It is with anticipate towards a great year that I greet you today as we begin this year's journey of learning, tackling challenges together and finding purpose in each day.

Curriculum areas we will focus on this year include learning to use technology in greater ways all our classroom lessons. We want to make technology an important part of our learned.
Our blog will be a great place for us to learn together as well as a way for us to contribute in practical way to others in our world. Collaboration within our classroom and with others on the web will drive our learning to new heights.

You will find other important policies here on the blog. Check-in with our blog often for updates and communications as well as tracking what we are doing in our classroom.

If you have any questions or concerns or if you would like to visit our classroom, schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, you can contact me at wanek_diana@salkeiz.k12.or.us.
Once again, welcome to our class. Let’s work together to make this a year we are very proud of!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Wanek
